Welcome to April...the month where we all hope that someone yells "April Fools!" and tells us that all this terrible news we've been having is all some kind of cosmic joke. We hope you're all staying safe and healthy, and taking good care of each other. Hang in there, everybody!

Queens and Pirates News: All the Epic bundles and tubes of original art have gone out! If you are a backer from a level that includes either of those, your stuff is on its way! (Unless you still haven't filled out your BackerKit survey, in which case, please visit the Survey Recovery Page and finish it up. We can't ship your rewards without your survey!)

I'm now working though the piles of individual book packages, and there are a LOT of them! Fortunately, packing them is going pretty fast. For a given value of "fast." Also, shipping is shockingly expensive, and I didn't charge nearly enough, even though I felt faint at what I did charge. Yikes. anyway, stay tuned! I'll keep you posted!

Visit our BackerKit store for one last chance at our Queens and Pirates exclusives!

With COVID-19 tearing around out there, we're hearing from our readers a bit more than usual. Some are urging all the sewing machine-havers and costumers out there to join in making homemade masks for medical professionals, which sounds like a a lovely idea. Here's an article at our local KUOW about Providence asking cosplayers to make masks, but then here's Providence.org saying that they've changed plans, so...This tells me that, if you're going to start sewing, please check into the needs of your local hospital or care unit first. Those who do welcome homemade masks will certainly have some important specs to follow, so it's best to look into that before you start. Here's the CDC's facemask information: scroll to the bottom for information about homemade masks. Here's a nice tutorial and pattern on craftpassion.com if you want to get to it. There are LOTS of others. I've also seen folks urging each other to dig around in their craft rooms or painting sheds and find unused packets of masks and gloves that could be donated. There's a lot of rapidly-changing information about who will accept what, so I guess the answer is to see what we can provide and research where to take it. Thanks, everyone, and stay safe. --Kaja
