Dog seems to be feeling a lot better, but she's on strict rest. Not that she minds, she's happy to loll around the office and eat her medicine wrapped in delicious stinky treats. Pill Pockets are really popular around here, they even bring my super-shy cat out of hiding and turn him into a pushy monster of greed. On the insistence of Experiment #2, we've been listening to the Magnus Archives. It's a wonderful horror podcast from Rusty Quill and we're enjoying it very much. A few of its story elements remind me of a set of recurring dreams I've had since I was very young, so I find it extra creepy, and that makes it even better. The downside is that I don't want to stop listening, and there aren't a lot of things I can get done when I'm listening. I can't even listen to music properly when I'm working, and podcasts are right out. Phil listens to a lot of things when he's drawing, but it just doesn't work for me. The story is compelling, and I love the voice actors, but I think my favorite thing, weirdly, is the sound design of the whole thing. I love the opening music, and the lovely, creepy background ambiance that makes sets the tone and raises the tension. I get pretty wrapped up in our own work, and I miss a lot of what other creative types are doing out there. I'm so happy to have a couple of teenagers around to point me at these things! --Kaja |
